I knew as soon as I met Sarah and her parents at a Wedding Fayre i knew that we would get along famously.

Sarah & Luke had chosen my top photography package, which included a pre-wedding photoshoot. This is a great idea if you feel a little nervous or just want to practice striking a pose. It gave us a chance to have a really good wander around their gorgeous Wedding venue and to scope out where we'd like to take some of the "wow" shots of the day. It also meant that by the time, I arrived on the morning of the Wedding we felt like friends.

Wedding preparation was in full swing, with Sarah and the ladies already with a make-up base on. Sarah had 2 lovely bridesmaids, Natalie & Kelly and was assisted by Luke's daughter Chloe.

The house was decorated beautifully, Mum & Dad had got everything under control and everyone was very calm. Dad had done a great job of keeping everyone fed & watered before opening the champagne.

Everything ran on time and once Sarah was in her dress and we had taken a few lovely family photographs, it was off to Blyth Church.

What a beautiful church with a gorgeous relaxed atmosphere. Luke & his brothers were looking a wee bit nervous but were happy to have a couple of pics before going inside to wait for the bridesmaid to arrive.

The ceremony was very beautiful with lovely hymns and readings and the whole wedding day was sprinkled with lovely personal touches. Sarah's mum must have spent weeks drying out petals for the beautiful homemade organic confetti. It's so lovely to see talented guests with musical talents playing a part in the day. A guest was playing the organ is church and Sarah's cousin later played the piano after their meal. It really was spellbinding, I had to remember to take pictures and not just listen.

After church, we headed to Hodsock Priory. I'd never photographed here before, but cannot wait to go back. It is so beautiful. It's on the South Yorkshire / Nottinghamshire border and is a privately owned house. It's stunningly beautiful with so many lovely places to create amazing photographs. The lovely Linda at Hodsock priory had everything under control and made us feel like part of the family.

The guests were great fun and we were blessed with some lovely weather. Sarah's brother worked like an absolute trooper diligently rounding up family members for photographs, meaning they were soon back relaxing and having a drink with friends. I've offered to hire him for other weddings.

This wedding was just perfect. It was elegant, sophisticated yet relaxed and left us all with a warm glow.

Thanks so much to Sarah's parents who really made me feel like part of the family, it was hard to leave. Can we do it all again!

Thanks to Linda at Hodsock Priory for making everything run smoothly.

Thanks to Matt Lunn for ably assisting me on the day to make sure it was seamless, lugging my gear and for second shooting.

As always a mention for other great suppliers:
